I’m convinced the monkey wrenches thrown at you while fostering helps God develop your patience. You’re forced to reflect on why I do what I do. While writing this note I was given information that caused a little set back in the adoption process. There are a lot of moving parts within the system and the very system that is involved doesn't always make the best decisions for the children they are servicing. It is never easy to make plans in such uncertainty but faith is something that we must use each day.

While you can’t plan for everything, you can make the best of everything, and Kitty and I are going to make the very best of this summer.

Kitty LOVES the summer! Longer days with no school or homework. Traveling and living a life that is free. Sounds a lot like me come to think of it.

This summer she’ll go to summer camp to enjoy nature, swim, do arts and crafts, and be with children her age.

When I pick her up we’ll spend time together. Movie nights and ice cream. Looking at the stars and praying that the Lord will move on our behalf. With the pandemic ending I’m glad we’ll have more activities to do outside of the house - parks, playgrounds, amusement parks, creameries with a farm for example.

I look forward to our evening walks and talks. She sometimes walks a little ahead of me then turns around to look at me, waves and smiles. It warms my heart every time.

I am learning to truly depend on God, which is easier said than done at times. I know He will get all the glory out of this situation. I am reminded of Philippians 4:12-13 where Paul explains no matter what situation you’re in you can get through it because Christ strengthens you.

So again, I’m determined to make the very best of this time - and you should too!
